Odisha twins script unique JEE-Main exam record, share success mantra; watch

The National Testing Agency on Monday announced the results of the JEE Main 2026 Session–1. While Odisha’s Bhavesh Patra topped the state in the exam, a twin brother from the state has created history.

Masroor and Mahroof Ahmed Khan - Twin Brothers who got same score in JEE-Main 2026

The National Testing Agency on Monday announced the results of the JEE Main 2026 Session–1. While Odisha’s Bhavesh Patra topped the state in the exam, a twin brother from the state has created history.

The duo- Mahroof and Masroor Ahmed Khan- have etched their names in the history of the JEE exam by achieving identical scores.

One of the brothers, "Masroor Ahmed Khan told ANI, "I have been in Kota since class 10 and have been following coaching materials for the last 3 years under the guidance of a teacher... I have always been motivated. That's why I earned good marks in JEE Main..." ”

Speaking on the preparation part, he said, “We (he and his twin brother Mahroof) studied together. We have the same study time... Both of us motivated each other. We learned a lot from each other..."

The other brother, Mahroof Ahmad Khan, said, "Since the start, we studied together, clearing doubts together... We used to motivate each other when the results did not go well... This led to healthy competition and improved performance... We belonged to Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. My mother currently lives with us. She left her job only to come to live with us... I now aim to crack JEE Advanced and then aim to pursue computer science at IIT Bombay. Lastly, I am planning to become an IAS."

Meanwhile, Odisha topper Bhavesh Patra is among the 12 candidates across the country who have secured a perfect 100th percentile in the prestigious engineering entrance examination. 

Bhavesh's Coveted 100th Percentile in JEE-Main

Notably, Bhavesh has emerged as the first Odia student to achieve the coveted 100th percentile in JEE (Main). Speaking exclusively to Odisha TV, Bhavesh said that he used to study around 10 hours every day. “…But I would suggest aspirants to set a target and focus on that instead of counting daily hours,” he said.

Sharing his preparation strategy, Bhavesh further said, “Every day, one must cover Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics without fail. Self-motivation is the key to staying focused. I am grateful to my teachers and my parents for their constant support.”
