The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the Class 10 and 12 board examinations will begin on February 17, 2026. In a first, Class 10 students will face the board exams twice in a single academic session.
According to CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj, the first edition of Class 10 exams will be held from February 17 to March 6, while the second edition is scheduled from May 15 to June 1, 2026.
Class 12 Schedule
For Class 12, the exams will run from February 17 to April 9, 2026. Apart from the main board exams, the schedule also includes sports category exams for Class 12, a second board exam for Class 10, and supplementary exams for Class 12.

Evaluation Guidelines
CBSE has also issued evaluation timelines to ensure timely declaration of results. The process will begin about 10 days after each subject’s exam and will be completed within 12 days. For example, if the Class 12 Physics exam is held on 20th February, evaluation will start on 3rd March and conclude by 15th March, 2026.
Scale of Examinations
Around 45 lakh students are expected to appear in 204 subjects across India and 26 other countries. Alongside written exams, practicals, evaluations, and post-result processes will be carried out to streamline the academic calendar.
Tentative Datesheet
The board clarified that the dates released are tentative. The final version will be issued once schools submit the final list of candidates.
