CBSE mandates mental health & social emotional learning framework in schools after SC order

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Thursday announced important changes to the Class X and Class XII board examinations for CBSE-affiliated schools located in several Middle East countries, including Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

According to the circular issued by the board, the decision was taken after a critical review of the prevailing situation in parts of the Middle East.

The board has introduced separate measures for Class X and Class XII examinations to ensure the safety and convenience of students.

For Class X examinations, CBSE has announced that all exams scheduled between March 7 and March 11, 2026, will stand cancelled. In addition, the exams that were earlier postponed and scheduled on March 2, March 5 and March 6 have also been cancelled.

The board stated that the mode of declaration of results for Class X candidates in the Middle East region will be notified separately in due course.

Follow Official Announcements

Regarding Class XII examinations, the board has decided that the exam scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026 has been postponed. CBSE informed that revised dates will be announced later after reviewing the situation. The board will reassess conditions on March 7 and issue further directions regarding the examinations scheduled from March 9 onwards.

CBSE has also advised Class XII students to remain in close contact with their respective schools and regularly follow official announcements for further updates.

The circular has been issued by Controller of Examinations Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, and copies have been sent to Indian embassies and CBSE regional offices in the Middle East to ensure smooth communication with affiliated schools.
