In a press release dated March 10, Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations, said the board incorporates multiple security features in question papers, including QR codes designed to verify the genuineness of the paper in case of any suspected security breach.

According to the board, the Class 12 Mathematics examination was conducted on March 9, 2026. In a few sets of the question paper, it was observed that scanning one of the QR codes directed users to a YouTube video. The issue reportedly triggered concerns among students and parents about the authenticity of the examination paper.

Addressing the matter, the CBSE clarified that the question papers used in the examination are completely genuine and that the security of the papers has not been compromised.

“The Board hereby confirms that the question papers are genuine. The security of the question papers remains uncompromised,” the statement said.

While assuring students and parents about the authenticity of the exam papers, the board also stated that the issue has been taken seriously. It added that necessary steps are being taken to ensure that such incidents do not occur again in the future.

The clarification aims to put to rest doubts raised among students and guardians following the circulation of claims related to the QR code during the examination.
