CBSE Cancels Class 10, 12 Pending Board Exams

The Central Board of secondary Education (CBSE) has finally cancelled the pending class 10 and class 12 board exams for now.

CBSE reportedly informed Supreme Court that the board exams for the remaining papers scheduled from July 1 to July 15 stand cancelled.

The pending CBSE board exams have been cancelled for now and it may be conducted when conditions are conducive or the Covid-19 situation improves, the Solicitor General for the board told a bench of Justices AM Khanwilkar, Dinesh Maheshwari and Sanjiv Khanna.

Class 12 students can opt for assessment scheme, which will be notified by the board shortly, or they can appear in exams when the conditions become conducive, the SG Tushar Mehta told SC.

Besides, the ICSE board also today told the top court it has also cancelled its pending Class X and XII board exams.

Earlier, parents demand that the CBSE exams should be scrapped and the result be declared by either calculating the average of tests already conducted or based on an internal assessment due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in the country.
