The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reopened the LOC (List of Candidates) portal for the CBSE Board Examinations 2026. Schools can now fill in and submit the LOC form through the official CBSE website at cbse.gov.in.
The submission window will remain open until October 8, 2025, while forms can be submitted with a late fee until October 11, 2025.
Portal Reopened
The decision to reopen the portal was taken as several schools failed to submit their LOCs within the prescribed schedule, issued previously. Despite repeated communications and sufficient time, many schools did not complete the process before the earlier deadlines, September 22, 2025 (for payment via challan without late fee), and September 30, 2025 (for online and other payment modes without late fee).
According to the official notification referring to Circular No. CBSE/LOC/X-XII/2025-2026 dated August 27, 2025, CBSE had issued eight separate reminders and circulars between September 9 and September 30, 2025, to facilitate timely submission. These included instructions for accuracy in data submission, guidance for parents on subject entries, and repeated alerts regarding remaining days for submission without late fees.
Revised Schedule for LOC Submission
As per the reopened schedule, schools can now submit the LOCs with late fees as follows:
Payment through Challan: From October 3 to October 8, 2025 (till 11:59 p.m.)
All other payment modes (Internet Banking, UPI, Debit/Credit Card, NEFT, RTGS, and international modes including Nepal Internet Banking and SWIFT Card): From October 3 to October 11, 2025 (till 11:59 p.m.)
The Board has clarified that the portal will close as per the schedule mentioned above, and no further extensions will be granted. Schools failing to comply will bear full responsibility for any resulting consequences, including the ineligibility of their students to appear for the Board Examinations 2026.
Tentative Datesheet Already Released
Earlier, the tentative dates for the 2026 CBSE board examinations were announced. The Class 10 exams will begin on February 17, 2026, and conclude on March 9, 2026, while the Class 12 exams will end on April 9, 2026. On most days, both exams will be held from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, with some subjects scheduled from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Approximately 45 lakh candidates from India and 26 countries abroad are expected to appear in 204 subjects across Classes 10 and 12 in 2026. For further details, schools and candidates can visit the official website of CBSE.
