Bhubaneswar: The University Grants Commission has released important guidelines for students and faculty of higher education institutions for their participation under track 2 of Toycathon 2021.

As per the notice, the students and faculty members have been asked to submit their ideas by January 20. The students can win prizes worth Rs 50 lakh under the Toycathon 2021.

It is pertinent to mention here that Toycathon 2021 (A Hackathon) was launched by Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhhriyal and Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani on January 5.

Earlier under the ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Toycathon was proposed for crowd sourcing of innovating ideas for development or creation of toys and games based on Bharatiya history, culture, ethos and culture.

Toycathon 2021 is an inter-ministerial initiative organised by Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell with support from All India Council For Technical Education, Ministry of Women and Child Development and others.

In a letter to the vice-chancellor of universities and principals of colleges across the country, the UGC has directed them to encourage students to participate in the Toycathon 2021.
