Bhubaneswar: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a standard operating procedure (SOP) which needs to be followed by schools during the conduct of practical examination for Class X, XII students.

In a notice to all schools, the CBSE has said that the practical examinations have been rescheduled from March 1 to June 11 this year due to COVID-19 pandemic.

In a circular issued on Thursday, the Board has categorically asked schools to follow the SOP and other guidelines related to COVID-19 strictly during the conduct of the examinations.

In its circular, CBSE has categorically warned that any non-compliance of instructions will invite a fine of Rs 50,000 on schools.

Here’s the SOP released by CBSE:

-Laboratory will be sanitised with the solution of 1% hypochlorite after conduct of practical of each batch.

-Hand sanitiser be kept in the laboratory for sanitising hands.

-Arrangement of covered dust bin be made and it should be cleaned frequently.

-A batch of 25 students could be divided into two sub-groups for the conduct of practical, if need be, looking into COVID. However, in such cases, marks will be uploaded of both the sub-groups on the link provided by the CBSE.

-Students will be informed about COVID protocols- wearing of masks, washing hands, social distancing and other norms.

-Students are allowed to bring a small transparent bottle of sanitiser alongwith them in addition to face mask and gloves.

-Schools will place the experiments in such a manner that social distancing norms are followed.

-School should prepare entry and exit norms for students based on the location and infrastructure of the laboratories and also mark the sign from entry to laboratory for maintaining social distancing.

-Exhaust fan should be switched ON to have proper air circulation.

-Doors of the laboratories should be kept open during the conduct of the practical examinations.
