Bhubaneswar: Normalcy is all set to return to campuses after Centre allowed resumption of physical mode of teaching in  several universities and colleges across the country. The Centre has been releasing several unlock guidelines in view of the Covid-19 pandemic situation at regular intervals with necessary precautions that needs to be followed strictly.

Schools, colleges and other higher educational institutions across the country are reopening in a phased manner.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) on Friday has asked Universities and Colleges to strictly implement the reopening guidelines which were issued in November last year.

In a letter, the UGC has asked vice-chancellors of universities and college principals to strictly ensure that these guidelines are strictly followed. The UGC had issued the guidelines through a letter on November 5, 2020.

It is pertinent to mention here that Universities and other educational institutions across the country were closed since March 16, 2020 after Government of India announced a countrywide lockdown as one of the measures to contain the COVID-19 outbreak.

The University Grants Commission issued "Guidelines on Examinations and Academic Calendar for the Universities in view of COVID-I9 pandemic and subsequent Lockdown" on April 29, 2020 and then, on 6th July, 2020.

These guidelines covered important dimensions related to examinations, academic calendar, admissions, online teaching-learning and provided flexibility for adoption by the universities.

Later “UGC Guidelines on Academic Calendar for the First Year of Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate Students of the Universities for the Session 2020-21 in View of COVID-19 Pandemic” were issued on September 24, 2020.

The complete UGC guidelines can be assessed on the official website. Click Here….
