New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: After the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) cancelled the class 10 board exams, some have now started demanding cancellation of the CBSE class 12 board exams as well.

While welcoming the Centre’s decision to cancel the class 10 board exams, deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia today appealed that the CBSE class 12 board exam should also be cancelled.

“I am happy that Class 10 exams are being cancelled and dates are being rescheduled for class 12 exams. I know that Class 12 students will be anxious over the rescheduling,” ANI quoted Sisodia as saying.

“Similar to what was done for Class 10 students, I appeal to the government to promote Class 12 students on the basis of internal assessment and pre-board exams. It is very important to stay at homes during these troubled times,” he added.

Earlier in the day, the CBSE class 10 board exam was cancelled while the class 12 exams were postponed taking into account the present situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and well-being of the students.

Informing the same, Union Minister for Education Ramesh Pokhriyal said, “The Board Exams for Class 12 to be held from May 4th to June, 14th, 2021 are hereby postponed. These exams will be held hereafter.”

He further said the class 10 exams to be ‘held from 4th May to June 14th, 2021 are hereby cancelled’. The results of Class 10 Board will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the Board, he added.
