Bhubaneswar: #ModijiPostponeJEENEET trend on Twitter on Tuesday as students urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to postpone the exams in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The NEET UG exam is scheduled to be held on September 13.

“I hope @narendramodi ji you will keep the youth at centre and will not put their life in danger by conducting exam in Sept. I humbly request you to Postpone jee_neet,” wrote a user on the social media platform.

“NEET is one time exam, everyone wants to give it in stress-free environment to give their best in exam... We request you to please postpone this exams untill normalcy returns in terms of transportation and other natural calamities,” wrote another student.

However, the Supreme Court had earlier categorically stated that the NEET UG exams will be held as per schedule.

On petition over postponing the exams, in a statement, the National Testing Agency had earlier said that though there is a pandemic situation, life has to go on and the career of students cannot be put in peril for long and a full academic year cannot be wasted.
