Bhubaneswar: Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal today released the schedule of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2021.

The first session of JEE Main 2021 will be conducted by NTA between February 23 and February 26, in multiple shifts.

The JEE Main will be conducted in multiple sessions for the next academic session in February, March, April and May 2021 to give multiple opportunities to candidates to improve their scores in the entrance exam if they fail to give their best in the first attempt without wasting their whole academic year.

"We have examined your suggestions regarding JEE (Mains) and on the basis of the same, I am announcing the schedule of the exam," Pokhriyal tweeted.

The multiple sessions will also ensure that students can appear for the JEE Main exams despite the upcoming board exams and the fear of coronavirus.

JEE Main will have a new exam pattern in which candidates have to attempt 75 questions out of 90, which includes 15 optional questions. There will be no negative marking for these 15 questions.

The JEE Main will be held in as many as 13 languages from next year- Hindi, English, Punjabi, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi and Urdu.

Meanwhile, candidates can submit online application form through the NTA JEE Main website- jeemain.nta.nic.in. The last date to apply for the JEE Main Exam is January 15, 2021.
