Bhubaneswar: The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Advanced 2019 exam, earlier scheduled to be held on May 19th this year has been postponed to May 27th due to clash of the exam date with Lok Sabha election dates, a notice issued by the  organising authority, IIT Roorkee informed.

“In view of the clash in the dates of JEE (Advanced) 2019 and the last phase of General Elections 2019, the examination date of JEE (Advanced) 2019 has been shifted to May 27, 2019”, a notice on the JEE Advanced site read.

The fully computer based test (CBT) will be held in India and abroad, on May 27, 2019 (Monday), in the following two shifts: Paper 1 from 9 am to 12 pm and Paper 2 from 2 pm to 5 pm.

As per the standard rule, the date of JEE Advanced examination is not generally changed in case of a holiday on the date. However, with Lok Sabha Elections 2019 and State Assembly Elections in the states of Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Sikkim scheduled to be held during that time, the date of the exam has been changed.

JEE Advanced is the country’s top national-level engineering entrance exam examination conducted for admissions to Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
