New Delhi: Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar today rubbished the reports of recommendation making Hindi language compulsory until Class 8 in all the schools across the country.
Javadekar informed that there’s no provision of making any language compulsory in National Education Policy draft while clarifying that the news in the media is wrong.
The HRD Minister also took to twitter and said, "The Committee on New Education Policy in its draft report has not recommended making any language compulsory. This clarification is necessitated in the wake of mischievous and misleading report in a section of the media."

A few reports had earlier claimed that schools across the country need to strictly adhere to the formula of three languages with Hindi as a compulsory subject up to Class 8. As such this would ensure a uniform curriculum in all the schools for Science and Mathematics, develop a script in Devanagari for tribal dialects and promote education based in "Hunar (skill)".
However, the Union HRD Minister today rubbished all such reports stating that there’s no provision of making any language compulsory in National Education Policy draft.
