New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: The Indian Railways is on a spree of recruitment to fill the lakhs of posts laying vacant in its different divisions. Southern Railway has released a notification for the recruitment of Trade Apprentice. Interested and eligible candidates may apply before February 22, 2018.

Educational Qualification

Candidates need a minimum qualification for Fitter, Machinist or Turner: Should have passed 10th Class exam under 10 +2 system of education or its equivalent along with National Trade certificate in the notified trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training.

For Carpenter, Painter, Welder (Gas & Electric), and Wireman: 8th Class Examination under 10 +2 system of education with science as one of the Subjects, or its equivalent. Candidates also need to possess National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by National Council for Vocational Training.

For Plumber: Candidates here need to have passed 10th Class Examination under 10 +2 system of education with science as one of the Subjects, or its equivalent and should also possess National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by National Council for Vocational Training.

For Electrician: 10th Class Examination under 10 +2 system of education with science as one of the Subjects, or its equivalent along with National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by National Council for Vocational Training is needed.

For Electronics Mechanic: 10th Class Examination under 10 +2 system of education with science as one of the Subjects(Physics and Chemistry) and Mathematics or its equivalent and National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by National Council for Vocational Training.

For Mechanic (Diesel) Maintenance Candidate: 10th Class Examination or its equivalent with National Trade certificate in the notified trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training.

For Advance Welder: 10th Class Examination or its equivalent with National Trade certificate in the notified trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training.

For Electronic/Information Technology: 10th Class Examination or its equivalent with National Trade certificate in the notified trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training.

For Instrument Mechanic: 10th Class Examination or its equivalent with National Trade certificate in the notified trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training.

For Refrigeration and Air conditioning Mechanic: 10th Class Examination under 10 +2 system of education with science as one of the Subjects (Physics & Chemistry) and Mathematics or its equivalent with National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by National Council for Vocational Training.

For Draughtsman (Civil): 10th Class Examination under 10 +2 system of education with science as one of the Subjects(Physics and Chemistry) and Mathematics or its equivalent with National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by National Council for Vocational Training.

Selection Procedure

The selection will be done on the basis of merit list which will be prepared by Committee nominated for the purpose on the basis of percentage of marks in matriculation (with minimum 50% (aggregate) marks) plus ITI marks.

However, the Minimum percentage of 50% marks in aggregated in matriculation which is not applicable to SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PWD candidates.
