The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 and 12 examinations are over and the evaluation process of the answer sheets are reportedly underway.
The results are likely to be published in the third week of May, said a CBSE official recently to a national newspaper. The Class 12 result is likely to be announced first, following which CBSE Class 10 results will be declared after two to three days.
In order to give relaxation to the students, the board had earlier decided to ease the passing criteria for Class 10 students from this year- a notification in this regard was issued by the CBSE in October last year.
As per the notification, CBSE extended the passing criteria and students need only 33 per cent marks in theory and practical combined to pass in a particular subject.
“It has now been decided to extend the same passing criteria henceforth for the students of Secondary classes i.e. candidates appearing for Class X examination in 2019 onwards will have to secure overall 33% (both taken together) in the subjects to be eligible to pass that subject," said the notification.
"In case of a candidate being absent in Practical/Internal assessment, the marks were treated as 0 (zero) and result was computed accordingly," the notification read.
