Bhubaneswar: Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank recently informed that the CBSE board exams will be conducted after February and in offline mode. Though the exams, which usually begin in February, has been postponed, students have raised questions over the release of the date sheet and offline mode of exam for class 10 and 12.

Students took to Twitter and said that the board should not delay in releasing the date sheet as the COVID pandemic has already hit their study and they need proper planning to prepare for the exams in a short period.

Students also questioned as to why the government is planning to conduct the CBSE board exams in offline mode when the classes and even the pre-board exams are being conducted in online mode. Students also demanded to postpone the exams.

“No physical classes have been held so far... Please postpone boards till May or June... School n syllabus complete krdi h lekin khud bhi toh krna parega. We need some time to prepare,” tweeted a student.

“Respected sir, consider the circumstances in which we managed our studies. It is very clear that our actual session began around august that too online. So better is to postpone our exams at least till may so that we can manage to cover our syllabus,” another student urged the Union Education.

“Respected sir, when we are studying online why should our board and pre-board Exams are going to held offline .My opinion is that board exam should be cancel for 2020-21 batch as if it'll get postponed then we will face problem in next year (sic),” tweeted a student.

Meanwhile, Pokhriyal has already said that discussion are underway to take a final call on the CBSE board exam dates and it can’t be postponed further.

“The practical exams are usually held between January 1 and15 while the optional exams are conducted between February 15 and mid-March. However, taking into account the present situation, it doesn’t seem possible to conduct the exams till the end of February. We need more time to take a final call on the exam dates as to when will the exams can be conducted after February,” he had said.
