Bhubaneswar: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has come up with some new norms related to the entry of students into the examination halls during the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams.

As per reports, there  will be no late entry for students into exam hall from 2019, preventing students from reaching late to the exam centers.

Such step of CBSE is seen as a competitive type examination like Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), Common Admission Test (CAT) and others.

The official entry time begins at 9.30 am while distribution of question papers starts at 10.15 am and candidates are given 15 minutes time to read the papers. In all, the Board has been allowing students to enter the exam halls till 11 am and 11: 15 in case of emergency.

CBSE to penalise schools

However, the new norm for 2019 Board exams, will make students to report at the examination centers by 10:15 am.

CBSE has taken such decision to make the examination more secured, India Today reported.

Speaking on the issue, a MHRD source said, "Exams like JEE or NEET and even CAT are secured for a number of reasons and one of them is strict entry timings. No student is allowed beyond the stipulated timing."

The Board will issue a circular for strict compliance of the entry timing and the centre supervisors will be accountable for its implementation, a senior ministry official told Times of India.
