Bhubaneswar: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has already braced it up for the smooth conduct of the Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2019. It has recently released dates for Class 12 practical examinations which will be held in January-February.

For the CBSE Class 12 Board exam 2019, the practicals will be held from January 16, 2019 to February 15, 2019. However, there will be different dates for the city of Allahabad due to celebrations of Kumbh mela in the region which be commencing from January 1, 2019.

As examination in skill based subjects and few other academic subjects which are being opted by small number of students will commence from later half of February 2019, practical examination in all such subjects should be completed within first half of February, 2019, the CBSE letter to the heads of its affiliated schools read.

On practical examinations, it further read, "The practical examinations should be conducted invariably in two sessions in a day if the number of candidates is more than 20."

Meanwhile, the board has revised the question paper format for both Class 10 and Class 12. As per an earlier circular released by the board, the number of internal choices has been increased by about 33%.

CBSE has also decided to continue with the changed passing criteria for Class 10 for the second consecutive year. The revised passing criteria require students to score combined 33% mark to pass- it includes internal assessment (practical marks) and external (board exam) marks.

On the other hand, CBSE chairman Anita Karwal had earlier said that the date sheet for the CBSE Class 10, 12 examinations 2019 will be released within the second week of January.

Moreover, CBSE will conduct the vocational examinations in February while exams of the core subjects are likely to begin from March 1, 2019.
