Bhubaneswar: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued strict instructions to all its affiliated schools to update the number of teachers available as examiners in the Online Information System of Affiliated Schools (OASIS).

As per schedule, the practical exams for Class 12 students are scheduled from March 1 to June 11, 2021. Similarly, the evaluation for both Class 10, 12 will start from May 7, 2021.

However, it has come to the notice of CBSE that teachers appointed as an external examiners have resigned and thus not available to act as examiners.

Apart from this, for the new session (2021-22), teachers working as PGT, TUT and teaching in Classes XI / XII and IX / X respectively have been assigned the lower Classes. With this, the availability of teachers has been reduced for practical/evaluation. Names of all teachers working in the schools have not been provided in OASIS, the CBSE circular read.

In the circular, the Board has asked the Principal (s)/ head of the institutions to ensure that the names of all teachers are available in the OASIS. The schools should take following action:-

– Should update / correct the data of teachers without being failed in OASIS. Link of OASIS is open from April 5, 2021 to April 10, 2021.

-Names of all teachers be updated.

– Schools have conducted practical with an examiner not appointed by CBSE.

All the Principals are directed to update teachers’ data in the OASIS within the schedule time. CBSE will compare both the data before updation and after updation.

In case it is observed that data has not been updated by the school, following action would be initiated:

-CBSE will take necessary action as per Affiliation By-laws and Examination By-laws.

-A personal penalty of Rs. 50,000 will be imposed on the Principal of the School.

-CBSE will not declare their Board’s result.

– Practical conducted by an examiner not appointed by CBSE will be cancelled and CBSE will re-conduct the practical of these candidates under its supervision.

“It would be the sole responsibility of the principal to comply with the directions of CBSE. Issue of online problem will also not be considered. CBSE will draw the teachers from each school, based on the number of students, sponsored by the school in Class X & XII,” the CBSE circular added.
