Bhubaneswar: Khurda district administration on Saturday declared Subhadra Apartment under Kalaharanga GP in Bhubaneswar a containment zone after detection of a Covid-19 positive case.

A notification issued by Khurda district collector Sitansu Kumar Rout said that the containment orders will be in force from 7 PM today till 7 PM of June 30. In order to contain any possible spread of Covid-19, the district authorities have issued restrictions on the movement of public into and out of the containment zone during the period, the notification read.

All the inhabitants of the apartment have been asked to remain at home. As per the protocols, all shops, public and private establishments, and institutions will remain shut as long as the containment order remains in force.

The supply of essential and medical requirements will be ensured through various teams constituted by the district administration.

Bhubaneswar on Saturday reported a total of 9 cases including 8 local contact cases taking capital city's tally of confirmed cases to 283. After 10 recoveries in last 24 hours, the city now has 131 active cases. Total recoveries in the city currently stand at 148 with 3 deaths so far.
