Covid-19-cases-in-Odisha
Bhubaneswar: The Covid-19 positive tally in Odisha crossed 3-lakh mark on Saturday after detection of 1372 more infections in the last 24 hours. The State set another grim milestone as the virus death toll has surged past 1400 with 17 patients succumbing to the disease in various hospitals during the period.
As per the State health department, Odisha's total coronavirus positive count now stands at 300140 while toll has climbed to 1410.
Of the 1372 fresh cases, 796 were reported from quarantine centres, and the rest 576 are linked to local contact cases. Three districts reported over 100 cases- Khorhda (145), Cuttack (121) and Nuapada (108).

The health department further mentioned that three persons succumbed to the virus in Khordha (2 in Bhubaneswar), two deaths each were reported from Bargarh, Sambalpur, Mayurbhanj and Cuttack districts. Puri, Balasore, Koraput, Kalahandi, Kendrapara and Bhadrak districts registered one fatality each.
H&FW department has shared the details of the 17 Covid-19 patients who succumbed while undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the past 24 hours:
After today's surge, the active cases in the State rose to 13503 while 285174 positive patients have so far recovered, said the State I&PR Department. As many as 50385 samples were tested in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tests to 4888509 in Odisha.
Meanwhile, with a daily spike of 50356 infections and 577 deaths in 24 hours, India’s tally on Saturday rose to 8462080 while death toll mounted to 125562 , said the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
