An audio statement to this effect was issued by Maoist leader Kailash, in which he declared a ceasefire in view of the Coronavirus outbreak.

In the audio tape, Kailash said that "We are aggrieved by the deaths caused by Coronavirus. We are declaring a ceasefire, so that healthcare workers can work smoothly in the area."

The dreaded Maoist leader maintained that they will not attack on any police officials or any of the informers during this period. They would rather want them to serve the locals.

However, the Maoist leader demanded that the allowances and ration given to the poor under the Public Distribution System (PDS) are not enough and the government should provide more assistance.
