Four more COVID-19 patients recuperated in Odisha, taking the total number of recoveries to 60 in the State. As per the information provided by Odisha Health and Family Welfare Department, three persons recovered in Bhadrak while one person recovered in Balasore.

The Odisha government on Sunday issued a letter effectively classifying the area under Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation as Red Zone. The letter signed by P K Mohapatra, the Additional Chief Secretary was addressed to all the District Collectors, District Magistrates and Municipal Commissioners in which the classification of zones were made effective for the week commencing from 4th May 2020. Other districts put under Red zone include Jajpur, Balasore and Bhadrak.

Meanwhile, India's COVID-19 positive figure soared up to 40,263 on Sunday, breaching the 40,000 mark. As per the numbers released by Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India's total active cases stand at 28,070 while 10,887 patients have been cured and discharged till now. The total death toll stands at 1306 in the country.

Earlier, the number of coronavirus cases in Odisha rose to 162 on Sunday following the detection of a new COVID-19 positive case in Keonjhar district. The second positive case from the district is a 30-year-old youth with travel history to West Bengal.
