Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported another positive case of COVID-19 on Tuesday, taking the total number of positive cases in the State to four. The patient is a 29-year-old male from Bhadrak district with travel history to Dubai, informed Odisha Health & Family Welfare department.

His sample was reportedly sent to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for examination where he was tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

While 473 samples were tested till Monday, today after Cuttack SCBMCH began COVID-19 testing, another 137 samples were tested, the department said.

As per official data, RMRC tested 119 samples, AIIMS tested 115 samples, and SCB examined 3 samples. While all the samples of RMRC and SCB tested negative, one sample of AIIMS has tested positive for COVID-19, informed State Health department.

As per latest reports, State Health Secretary Nikunja Dhal has spoken to Bhadrak Collector and asked him to shift the patient to SCB Hospital in Cuttack. This apart, he has asked him to isolate the close contacts and get them tested and trace all contacts as soon as possible.

Managing Director of National Health Mission is monitoring the follow-up action of the latest COVID-19 case.

Here's the detailed travel history of Case-4 in Odisha:

The department said that the fourth COVID-19 patient was asymptomatic and under home quarantine. Hence people with travel history but no symptoms should not be complacent. They must follow home quarantine for two weeks and then self monitor their health condition for another two weeks.

The other three positive cases reported in the State are from Bhubaneswar.

The first COVID-19 confirmed case in Odisha was reported on March 16 after a 33-year-old youth from Bhubaneswar who had a travel history to Italy tested positive for the virus. The youth had returned from Italy on March 12 and subsequently arrived in Odisha on a train from Delhi. He is now undergoing treatment at Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar.

Three days later on March 19, Odisha reported its second case of COVID-19 after a youth who had returned from the UK tested positive during a check-up at the isolation ward of AIIMS Bhubaneswar. The 20-year-old patient happens to be the son of a medical superintendent of the hospital. He is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital and is stated to be stable.

The third COVID-19 positive case came to the fore on March 26. The patient is a 60-year-old male who reached Bhubaneshwar on March 10 at 7 PM from Delhi by an Indigo flight.
