Which SBI branches are operational in Fani-hit Odisha? Here’s the list
Bhubaneswar: Cyclone Fani has not only battered Odisha by hitting its power, water and infrastructure sector but it has also worsened the problems of people by throwing day-to-day banking services out of gear.
Amid power outage and damages to ATMs, cash crunch has made it hard for the people to bear. In order to help people get out from these woes, SBI, the country’s largest lender has resumed operations through its branches in several districts in the aftermath of the cyclone.
“Despite the large scale devastation caused by Cyclone Fani in Odisha, the following branches of SBI operating in the affected areas are back on their feet to alleviate the suffering of the people,” the SBI tweeted giving information about the operational branches in the cyclone-affected areas in the State.
In Puri district which is the worst-cyclone affected region, most branches barring the one at Balugaon are out of order. Likewise, Majhiakhanda and Bajpur branches of SBI have resumed operations in Khurda district.
17 branches of SBI in Cuttack, 10 each in Bhubaneswar and Jagatsinghpur and 7 in Nayagarh have resumed banking operations.
As per information by the bank, all branches of SBI are working in Angul and Keonjhar. While in Mayurbhanj, all branches of the bank apart from Rairangpur are currently up and running.
Apart from Dhenkanal Main Branch and Dhenkanal Bazaar Branch, most branches of SBI have resumed operations in Dhenkanal.
All other offices of SBI, apart from Kendrapara, Balichandrapur, Bairi, Chandikhol and Gupti branches are operating in Jajpur region.
