New Delhi: Telecom firm Airtel has launched a new Rs 49 prepaid data pack offering up to 1GB 3G/ 4G data with a validity for one day. With this, the company targets to counter Reliance Jio's Rs 52 prepaid recharge plan.

Reliance Jio currently offers 1.05 GB of data in its Rs 52 recharge prepaid plan which comes bundled with free voice calls and free messages with a validity of seven days.

The Airtel's new Rs 49 prepaid data pack is available via My Airtel app as well as the company's website. The new data pack is in addition to another plan of Airtel that also offers 1GB 3G/ 4G data with 1-day validity but is priced at Rs 51. However, the Rs 49 data pack is currently only available for select mobile numbers and select circles in India.

Airtel prepaid users in metros, including New Delhi can now avail the prepaid data pack.

To avail the offer, subscribers can open 'My Airtel' app from their mobiles and click on 'View Best Offers' to have a look at all the new packs available under the Data section and choose accordingly.

Customers can also log on to Airtel's website and then click on prepaid recharge. Once done, they just have to add the mobile number and browse the plans.
