In a letter to shareholders, Goyal said he has recently been drawn towards ideas involving higher-risk exploration and experimentation, which are better pursued outside a public company. He emphasised that these ideas do not align with Eternal’s strategic scope and that the company deserves to remain focused and disciplined as it explores growth areas relevant to its core business.

Goyal also noted that the responsibilities and regulatory expectations of leading a public company demand singular focus, making the leadership transition a necessary step.

What Remains Unchanged

Despite stepping away from day-to-day operations, Goyal said his long-term association with Eternal remains intact. He will continue to be involved in shaping the company’s long-term strategy, culture, leadership development, and governance. He reaffirmed that the existing partnership with Albinder Dhindsa and other senior leaders remains strong, with business CEOs retaining operational autonomy.

Albinder Dhindsa Takes the Helm

As Group CEO, Dhindsa will oversee daily execution, operating priorities, and key business decisions. Goyal highlighted Dhindsa’s leadership at Blinkit, crediting him for guiding the company from acquisition to breakeven and building a strong operational foundation. Blinkit will remain Eternal’s largest growth opportunity and a key focus area.

Goyal expressed confidence that the transition will strengthen Eternal’s institutional focus and momentum, while allowing him the flexibility to explore new ideas without compromising the company’s priorities or long-term vision.
