Youth detained for attempting to rape minor in Kendrapara

Kendrapara: A youth was tied to a pole after villagers caught him while attempting to rape a minor at Haladidiha village in Kendrapara district here on Saturday.

According to reports, the youth Dilip Behera had dragged a 9-year-old minor to a toilet nearby while she had reportedly gone to fetch water from the village tubewell.

However, locals rescued the girl after hearing her screams for help.

Keeping in view the palpable tension in the village, police have arrested the accused and he is being interrogated.
