Two bodies including one with severed head found in Malkangiri

Malkangiri: In a brutal incident, police today recovered mutilated dead bodies of two persons from a canal near Venkatpalam village under Kaliemela block in Malkangiri district.

While one body was found with head severed the other had cut marks on its throat.

According to sources, the deceased have been identified as Sudam Lachhmaya and Venkat Rao of Venkatpalam village.  Both of them were missing from Thursday evening.

Some youths spotted the bodies lying near a canal today morning and informed their family members.

Subsequently, police reached the spot and recovered the bodies. Reason behind the barbaric incident is yet to be ascertained, said police sources.
