Tuition teacher attacks student for not paying fees

Kendrapara: A Class II girl student was attacked with a kitchen knife by her tuition teacher on Wednesday at Kakat Chowk in Kendrapara town after parents of the former did not pay her tuition fee.

The girl, Mamali, received minor injury on her neck and was admitted to Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).

According to sources, Mamali was taking tuitions under a local lady teacher at Kakat Chowk. As her tuition fee was pending, the teacher had asked her mother to pay the same but a fight emerged among them over this topic.

It was during the fight, the teacher took hold of the kitchen knife kept nearby and attacked Mamali.

Meanwhile, police have detained the accused tuition teacher.

Talking to media person, Inspector-In-Charge of Town Police Station, Bijay Kumar Bisi said, "The tuition teacher attacked with the kitchen knife in an enraged condition when the girl came in between and received a minor injury on her neck. A report was filed in this regard by the girl's father, a case has been registered and the tuition teacher has been detained for interrogation."
