Mutilated body of woman found, murder suspected

Subarnapur: Police today recovered the mutilated body of an unidentified woman from a field in Gaharikhamana village under Tarabha Police station of the district.

According to sources, local villagers spotted the woman’s body lying in the field this morning.

However, the identity of the woman could not be ascertained as her face was smashed and mutilated.

Getting information, Tarabha police along with Subarnapur SDPO rushed to the spot, recovered the body and initiated an investigation into the incident.

After a preliminary probe, police sources said that the woman has been murdered and later thrown in the field. ”We suspect she has been murdered and to destroy her identity, the face has been mutilated. Further investigation is on.”
