Malkangiri: 1 arrested for raping tribal woman

Malkangiri: The district police today arrested prime accused in a tribal woman rape case in Udupa after a police complaint was filed by the survivor.

Informing media about the arrest, Malkangiri SDPO Pratik Gita Singh stated, “The accused, Adma Madakami was nabbed near Udupa on his way to Chhattisgarh.”

He also said medical examination of the rape survivor will be undertaken and further action will be taken as per law.

On August 9, the tribal married woman was raped in broad daylight in full public view while walking back to her home from a local market.

None of the eyewitnesses prevented the incident, but recorded the heinous act on mobiles and uploaded on social media sites.
