Headmaster ‘rapes, impregnates’ class IX student, held

Koraput: In yet another despicable act that has brought shame to the novel profession of teaching, a headmaster of a girls school in tribal-dominated Koraput district has been detained for allegedly raping and impregnating a class IX teenage student of his own school.

According to sources, the headmaster of Balda girls school in Nandapur block of the district had lured a class IX student of the school and forced physical relationship with her.

Basing on a complaint by the family members of the girl, Padua Police have detained the headmaster.

After both the headmaster and the girl were put to medical examination reports revealed that the girl is pregnant.

Further probe into the incident is on as police have conducted interrogation of both the headmaster and the girl.

Earlier a similar incident of unwanted teenage pregnancy had rocked the state three months before when a cook working in a residential school at Potrel under Kalimela police station in tribal-dominated Malkangiri was arrested on allegations of impregnating a 11-year-old girl of the school.
