Girl foils rape attempt, files police complaint

Bhubaneswar: A girl from Aul area in Kendrapara district gave a slip to a miscreant while he attempted to rape her on a factory premises here. He had lured the girl on the pretext of providing her job in the city, police said today.

The girl, however, foiled his attempt by attacking him with a stone and jumped the boundary wall of the factory to reach police. Later, she lodged a complaint at Mancheswar police station.

"While crossing a railway track, he choked my mouth and threatened to kill me if i scream. Later, I hit his face and ran away. I broke my leg while jumping off the boundary wall," she said.

The accused is absconding.
