Subarnapur/Sambalpur: Four persons were killed and eight others injured in two separate incidents in Sambalpur and Subarnapur district within 12 hours.

Two brothers were killed after the Bolero they were travelling in collided with a passenger bus near Kulipali village in Subarnapur district on late Monday night.

According to sources, the bus was on its way from Kalahandi to Bhubaneswar when the Bolero collided with it killing the two brothers on spot. The driver of the Bolero was also injured in the accident.

The deceased were identified as Niranjan Sa and Ranjan Sa, residents of Baghia village under Tarbha block of Subarnapur.

They were returning from Cuttack in the Bolero when the mishap occurred. Police reached the spot and recovered the dead bodies.

In a similar incident, two persons were killed and seven others critical in a road mishap on National Highway-6 near Laxmi Dunguri in Sambalpur district.

They were on their way to Burla from Devkund in a Bolero, for treatment of a child, when the driver lost balance and the vehicle hit the road divider. The driver of the vehicle and a co-passenger were killed in the mishap.

The injured were admitted to VIMSAR, Burla.
