'Crorepati' headmaster of Jalangbira UP School in Vigilance net

Rourkela: Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday conducted simultaneous raids on residences of Ramlal Tanti - the headmaster of Jalangbira Project Upper Primary School, on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income

Acting on a tip off, five teams of anti-graft officials conducted searches at three places including Tanti's houses at Raibaga road in Sundergarh, residence of his in-laws and his office.

"Assets worth more than a crore have been unearthed during the raids. However the exact amount of disproportionate property will be known only after the searches are over," informed a Vigilance official.

"My assets are all bought on loans. The market complex and house has been bought with the money borrowed from my in-laws," said Tanti while refuting the charges against him.
