Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate police today arrested a person from Pipili, who used to sell stolen phones to consumers at much lower rates. The accused has been identified as Premji Swain and over 40 stolen mobile phones worth nearly Rs 3 lakh have been seized from his shop.

Chandrasekharpur Police said Premji was arrested during investigation in connection with a mobile phone snatching and loot incident.

Preliminary investigations reveal that Premji used to run a shop in Pipili and used to sell mobile phones looted or stolen by criminals from different locations.

After formatting and resetting the phone, Premji used to sell those phones to various gullible buyers.
