Childline rescues child abuse victim in Puri

Puri: An alleged victim of physical abuse, a girl studying in Class IV, was rescued by Childline members in Puri on Tuesday.

The minor was admitted to a hospital as her condition was reportedly critical. "The condition of the child shows that her mother is involved in it. There is no place left on the child's body, it is full of bruises," said a hospital staff, Debaki Dei.

"Childline will definitely file a case and we will see that the persons are arrested so that such incident is not repeated in future. If the mother is not the fit person, we will ask the government to keep the child at a fit facility," said Debasis Rath, Puri Childline Director.

Meanwhile, a complaint has been filed at Town Police station and probe has been initiated.
