Brown sugar worth Rs 15 lakh seized in Balasore; woman held

Balasore: The Excise department sleuths seized brown sugar worth Rs 15 lakh from a woman at Arada Bazaar in Balasore town today.

As per sources, the officials arrested the woman, identified as Sahele Bibi for possessing 150 gram brown sugar which was found during a raid on a house in Arada Bazaar.

The excise department had been tracking Bibi’s movements for past few days, sources said.

Meanwhile, she is being questioned on how she managed to get the illegal item and the details of supply chain.
