3 dead as ambulance crashes into truck in Balasore

Soro: Three persons were killed and three others injured as an ambulance hit a truck on National Highway-5 at Dahisada near Soro in Balasore district today.

The ambulance was on its way from Kolkata to Cuttack when it lost its balance and crashed into a truck coming from the opposite side of the road.

Talking to media persons, Soro ASI Minaketan Singh said, “We were on night patrol when we saw the ambulance going in front of us with some passengers in it. It was on its way from Kolkata to Cuttack. May be the driver lost balance of the ambulance as it jumped over the divider from left side of the road to right side and crashed into a moving truck.”

Meanwhile, the injured persons have been admitted to hospital and their condition is stated to be critical.

The identities of all the dead and injured persons are yet to be established.
