A serious road accident occurred on Friday evening when a car lost control and overturned on the Acharya Vihar overbridge in Bhubaneswar.
The vehicle, reportedly travelling from Jaydev Vihar towards Rasulgarh, overturned at around 8:15 PM, injuring both occupants — the driver and a woman passenger.
The car is suspected to have been moving at high speed when the driver lost control, leading to the vehicle flipping over on the overpass. Passersby immediately alerted authorities, and both injured persons were rushed to Capital Hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, a team from Sahid Nagar Police Station reached the accident site and began an investigation. While the exact cause of the accident remains unconfirmed, police officials indicated that overspeeding might have been a contributing factor.
