Late-night robbery: Miscreants loot gold and cash worth lakhs in Nayagarh

In a daring late-night operation, a gang of miscreants carried out a series of robberies in Nabaghanpur village under the Nayagarh Town police limits, making away with gold ornaments and cash worth several lakhs of rupees. The targeted homes belonged to local residents Akur Pal and Panu Pal.

According to reports, the burglars forcibly broke open the grills of the houses during the late hours of the night. They quickly ransacked the premises, taking away valuables before fleeing the scene.

Neighbours reported hearing suspicious noises around midnight, but by the time the police were alerted, the culprits had vanished.

The Nayagarh Town Police have registered a case and initiated a thorough investigation into the incident. Efforts are being made to track the suspects through available CCTV footage and local informants. Authorities have appealed to residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in the area.

No arrests have been made yet, and the investigation is ongoing.

“They have broken the window grille and thrown it in the paddy field. I’m clueless as to who committed the thefts,” alleged a local.

Likewise, another local alleged, “At around 1-1:30 am at night, they have looted a gold necklace, 2 gold chains, nose rings, and Rs 55000. Many other things are missing in the house.”
