Cuttack: A picture of a remote area comes to our mind whenever we think about drinking water woes in Odisha. But the residents of a locality in Cuttack have been grappling with acute water shortage since decades. Though pipelines have been laid, the residents of Bidanasi Nayak Sahi under ward no.1 of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) are yet to get proper drinking water supply.

With no other options, the locals are now depending on open wells and tube wells to meet their daily drinking water requirements. Though Cuttack is included under the AMRUT scheme, it is yet to be extended to Bidanasi area, alleged local residents.
