The steep rise in maximum temperature recently forced the Odisha government to announce the closure of educational institutions. As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), several parts of Odisha will experience severe heat wave conditions in the coming days.
The IMD has issued orange and yellow alerts for severe heat wave, hot and humid conditions in different parts of Odisha.
However, there is also the possibility of thunderstorm-triggered rainfall, which may provide some respite to the people from the scorching heat wave conditions.
