The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued a ‘Yellow Warning’ for thunderstorm and lightning in several parts of Odisha. As per the forecast, the warning has been issued for February 4 which will remain valid till February 5.
Apart from thunderstorm and lightning alert, the IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar also predicted hailstorm in seven districts- Sundergarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
According to IMD, the people in Odisha will get respite from cold wave conditions as the minimum (night temperature) is likely to rise by 3 to 5 degree Celsius during the next 3 to 4 days.

Dry weather is likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be prepared): Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh and Kandhamal.
Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 03.02.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 04.02.2022)
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh and Keonjhar
Yellow Warning (Be prepared): Thunderstorm with lighting is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh and Keonjhar.
Day-5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 4.02.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 05.02.2022)
Yellow Warning (Be prepared): Thunderstorm with lighting is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Hailstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
