A purported photograph showing cash distribution during an election rally of BJD’s Lok Sabha candidate Pradeep Majhi in Nabarangpur went viral on Saturday.
As per reports, a person was seen distributing wads of notes while electioneering was underway for the BJD leader.
The person in question has been identified as Trinath Bhatt of Chandahandi area. Trinath was seen inside a vehicle while BJD leader Pradeep Majhi was standing beside him.
Meanwhile, the BJP has taken exception to this incident and apprised the Election Commission of India (ECI).

When asked about the incident, Pradeep Majhi said, "I am so busy with my campaigning that I have little time to see who is doing what around me. You can ask that person about what he was doing. So many such photos are coming."
On the other hand, BJP leader and party’s Lok Sabha candidate Balabhadra Majhi said, "We have informed the ECI and that case is under investigation. We expect the order of the ECI in a day or two. His candidature may be cancelled. Over the last three to four days, cash is being distributed to people.”
