BJP National Vice-President and party’s Kendrapara Lok Sabha candidate Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda on Tuesday conducted a high-voltage campaign and interacted with lawyers of Kendrapara Bar Association. During the interaction, Panda said that lawyers play a crucial role in democracy, freedom struggle and safeguarding the Constitution.
“Today, I had come to the Kendrapara Bar Association to seek their support and blessings. There is a huge wave of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and time has come for a change. The key opinion makers in the society also want to see Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister for the third time, including Kendrapara. Discussions were also being held to put Odisha on the development path,” said Panda.
Duryodhan Sahoo, former general secretary of Kendrapara Bar Association said, “Today, BJP leader Baijayant Panda met the lawyers and other staff. The lawyers are with him and all have blessed him and assured to work to ensure his victory.”
Advocate M Chinmayee said, “There is a call for change and we will vote for BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
Earlier on Monday, the BJP launched a massive attack on the ruling BJD by raising several issues at a presser in Bhubaneswar. Five leaders of the party including party president Manmohan Samal, BJP national vice-president Baijayant Panda, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, senior leader Pratap Sarangi and MP Aparajita Sarangi lambasted the BJD over several issues.
Hours after the presser, some BJD leaders held a presser over the BJP leaders' allegations. Today, responding to the BJD's remarks, the senior BJP leader Baijayant Panda said, “I would have said something if they (BJD) would had made some logical response. From the statements of BJD leaders it appears that they don’t have answerd. There is a saying that only the truth hurts.”
According to Panda, the entire controversy would end if the Odisha CM comes forward and name the districts in public as per PM Modi’s call.
Meanwhile, political experts believe that the ruling BJD is a bit rattled after Prime Minister Narendra Modi dared Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to name some villages and district headquarters without seeing any paper.
