The newly elected MPs of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance on Friday re-elected Narendra Modi as their leader. This also paved the way for Narendra Modi to take oath as prime minister for the third term.
In his address from the Central Hall of the Samvidhan Sadan (Old Parliament), Narendra Modi congratulated the NDA alliance leaders and workers who toiled hard to script a new history by winning a huge mandate in the recently concluded 2024 elections.
'Odisha To Be One Of Growth Engines Of Country’s Vikas Yatra'
The BJP scripted history by winning 20 Lok Sabha seats out of 21 and bagging 78 seats in the 147 Odisha Assembly to form the next government in the state.
Hailing the superb performance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the struggle and work of every party leader for the landslide victory in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh in the recently concluded elections.

"When I think about Lord Jagannath, I believe that he is the God of the poor. The revolutionary results that have come in Odisha, I am sure, the dream of Vikshit Bharat, with the blessing of Lord Jagannath, Odisha will be one of the growth engines of the 'vikas yatra' of the country in the next 25 years," said PM Modi.
Modi Lauds NDA Alliance, Terms The Win 'Mahavijay'
In his address at Samvidhan Sadan, Narendra Modi said that if we look at the results of the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, from every parameter, the world believes that this is NDA's 'Mahavijay'.
Earlier, Narendra Modi recalled that the day when he spoke in this House in 2019. He said, “All of you had chosen me as the leader. I had then emphasized on trust. Today, when you are giving me this role, it means that the bridge of trust between us is strong. This relationship is on a strong foundation of trust and this is the biggest asset.”
Narendra Modi said that today people have given chance to NDA to serve them in 22 states in the country. The alliance upholds the true spirit of Bharat. There are 10 states where the population of tribals is more, and the NDA is serving in 7 states.
“Today I can say that NDA is an organic alliance in the political system of India. Great leaders like Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Parkash Singh Badal, and Balasaheb Thackeray... sowed the seed. Today the people of India have watered the trust of NDA and turned that seed into a fruitful one,” he said.
According to Modi, they are dedicated towards the Constitution, so be it Goa or northeast, where a lot of Christians are residing, we have got opportunity to serve them. In history, a pre-poll alliance has never been so successful as the NDA. There is a need for a majority to run the government, but consensus is needed to run the nation. I assure the people that we will unitedly work to take the nation towards the path of development, he said.
According to Modi, this is the most successful alliance as it has now entered its fourth term.
‘Country Can Prosper With Regional And National Aspirations’
In 2024, everybody in the alliance worked jointly and it has given us the capability of an organic alliance. Every worker has put in their hard effort as well.
“10 years of experience say that the aspirations that should be a strong connect between regional and national aspirations for the country to prosper. In this election, I observed that NDA has laid a strong foundation in southern India. Be it Karnataka or Telangana, where new governments were formed. The people’s faith got lost in no time and they accepted NDA. I also congratulated the Tamil Nadu team where we could not win seats, but the vote share we got indicates what is written next. In Kerala also, our workers worked for generations braving atrocities and we got a representative there as well,” said Modi.
