Police officials have reported that the accused in question managed to evade initial capture and efforts are underway to prevent any evidence tampering by the suspect.

In a statement, the superintendent of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) Prof. Lalmohan Nayak confirmed that a medical examination has not found any evidence indicating sexual assault against the woman.

“Report reflects no sign of sexual offence (penetrative sex). Private parts of the woman had no injuries with signs of struggle,” the VIMSAR superintendent asserted.

Worth mentioning, the young woman who went missing after attending Dhanu Yatra was found grievously injured in Kurla forest in the district on January 14.

The victim Sumee Bagh, hailing from Baradol village, was spotted with severe injuries to her head and other body parts showing signs of trauma. Police believe that she might have experienced mental disorientation due to the head injury.
